Queen Camilla brought a polished splash of royal summer style to Wimbledon as she stepped out for a day of tennis with her younger sister, Annabel Elliot, in what quickly became one of the most charming family moments of the Championships.
The Queen, 78, arrived at SW19 wearing a bright cerulean Anna Valentine dress, a striking look royal fans may recognise from Ascot last month. Sitting front and centre in the Royal Box, Camilla appeared relaxed and cheerful as she continued a tradition she and Annabel have enjoyed for years, with the sisters often attending the famous tournament together.

Annabel, 77, kept things classic in an ivory dress that nodded neatly to traditional tennis whites. The sisters were greeted by All England Lawn Tennis Club chair Deborah Jevans before the Queen met former British number one Heather Watson, along with ball crew members Zebedee and Aniya, both 15.

It’s been a busy social calendar for the couple – who tied the knot in June – as they also joined the King and Queen for Ascot last month

Camilla also took time to speak with people who help keep Wimbledon running behind the scenes, including Morag Ranford, who has spent 50 years working in the Championships’ press operations team, and Peter Dobson, who is retiring after 25 years as Safety Officer. She also met Richard Gammage, CEO of City Harvest, the charity tackling food waste at this year’s event.
But it was not only the Queen and her sister who gave the Royal Box its family feel. Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, attended with his new wife Harriet, just weeks after their intimate June wedding in the Cotswolds. Peter looked dapper in a light grey blazer and navy trousers, while Harriet turned heads in a checked lime and blue Emilia Wickstead ensemble reportedly worth £1,330.
The couple have already become a fresh point of interest for royal watchers. Their wedding, attended by the King and Queen among other members of the family, saw Harriet wear a white Emilia Wickstead gown and the Pragnell family tiara. Last week, Tatler described Peter and Harriet as the new royal couple to watch, and their bright Wimbledon appearance only added to that growing attention.
Camilla’s visit came during a particularly active week for the Queen. Just a day earlier, she was in East Sussex marking 100 years since the publication of the first Winnie-the-Pooh book, playing poohsticks at Ashdown Forest, the landscape that inspired A.A. Milne’s Hundred Acre Wood. She also stopped at The Half Moon Pub in Plumpton, the village where she grew up, where staff praised her as a “real character” and a “lovely lady”.
At Wimbledon, however, the atmosphere was all about tennis, tradition and relaxed royal warmth. With Camilla smiling beside Annabel, and Peter and Harriet enjoying another public outing as newlyweds, SW19 offered a softer glimpse of royal family life away from the heavier palace headlines.
