The Princess of Wales has shared one of her most personal updates yet after completing the National Three Peaks Challenge, releasing new family photographs that captured the emotional support waiting for her at the finish line.
Catherine, 44, took on the demanding mountain challenge in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, an organisation that has become especially meaningful to her as she continues to speak openly about the wider impact of cancer and recovery.
In the images posted to Instagram, the Princess looked relaxed and proud in red shorts, sturdy hiking boots, thick red socks and a baseball cap. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were all there to welcome their mother, each dressed casually in jeans and dark tops as they joined Prince William for the family moment. The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, with a total walking distance of around 23 miles and more than 10,000 feet of ascent. Between the peaks, teams travel hundreds of miles by road, making the challenge as much a test of endurance and resilience as of physical strength.
Catherine used the moment to thank those who had supported the Royal Marsden fundraising effort. In her own message, she reflected on how cancer touches every part of life, not only physically, but emotionally, psychologically and spiritually too.
