💌 Princess Kate Blows Flying Kisses During Moving Visit To Evelina Children’s Hospital

Princess Kate delivered one of her most tender public moments of the week as she visited Evelina Children’s Hospital in London, meeting seriously ill children, speaking with families and sharing a warm flying kiss with one young patient.

The Princess of Wales, who has been patron of the hospital since 2018, arrived at the Westminster medical facility in an elegant cream midi dress by Suzannah London. The soft, polished look featured pin-tuck detailing, black buttons and a matching belt, giving the visit a quietly graceful tone. She paired the dress with black slingback heels and wore her hair in loose waves.

But it was not the outfit that left the strongest impression. During the engagement, Kate was seen smiling, waving and warmly interacting with children receiving care at the hospital. In one especially sweet moment, the future Queen appeared to blow a kiss to a young patient, creating the kind of gentle image that royal watchers often connect with her most personal public work.

The visit highlighted Evelina London Children’s Hospital’s ambition to become the capital’s most comprehensive and integrated children’s hospital. Plans are underway for a major new building over the next decade, with additional scanners, beds, theatres and advanced technology designed to support some of London’s sickest young patients.

Kate’s appearance also helped shine a light on Evelina London Children’s Charity’s campaign to raise £100 million for the project. The funds are expected to support expanded services, improved facilities and specialist care for children and families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

During the visit, the Princess toured Edward Ward, a new cardiac centre at St Thomas’ Hospital, where she met children being treated in a setting designed to feel welcoming, calm and friendly. She also visited Galaxy Ward, a new outpatients unit and Children’s Day Centre, where young patients can attend face-to-face heart clinic appointments, diagnostic tests, assessments and continuing care.

Her final stop focused on the children’s cancer programme team, who are preparing for the future move of a specialist cancer, blood and marrow transplant service. The planned Children’s Cancer Principal Treatment Centre at Evelina will bring together teams from across London and south east England, giving children with cancer access to specialist services in one place.

The hospital visit came just days after Kate shared emotional family photographs from the finish line of her National Three Peaks Challenge, which she completed in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. In those images, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were seen supporting her after the gruelling climb, while her brother James Middleton also paid tribute to her strength and resilience.

Together, the two appearances underlined a deeply personal theme in Kate’s recent public work: support for families, children and patients navigating life-changing health challenges. After speaking openly about how cancer affects the body, mind, family life and sense of self, the Princess has increasingly used her platform to focus on care that reaches beyond medicine alone.

At Evelina, that message felt especially clear. This was not a loud royal appearance or a grand ceremonial moment. It was a calm, compassionate visit built around listening, encouragement and visibility for the children, parents and medical teams at the heart of the hospital.

For many royal fans, Kate’s flying kiss captured the spirit of the day: simple, warm and deeply human. At a time when her health journey has made her public work feel even more personal, the Princess of Wales once again showed why these quiet moments can carry enormous meaning.
