Model and TV star Christine McGuinness has reportedly been left ‘hurt’ after response to her recent X-rated revelations about her sex life

Reality star Christine McGuinness has been left “hurt and very upset” by a backlash that was sparked by candid revelations about her sex life.
The former Real Housewives Of Cheshire star, 38, has been hit by a flurry of abuse over her confessions around hotel hook-ups, masturbation and her love of bondage and vibrators.
Concerns were raised online over the impact her comments could have on her three children, with one critic saying, “So gutted for her children as they’ll read about this in the future,” which prompted the reply, “The twins are already 12 so are probably hearing it at school.”

Meanwhile on X, Christine was branded “a five-star attention seeker,” while another added, “Any publicity is good when you’re desperate.” A prominent newspaper columnist also claimed Christine “went too far” and that her comments were “tacky”.
However, others praised her honesty, with one listener saying, “Wish Christine knew how much of an icon she truly is! Not to mention incredible mother.” Another fan penned, “Christine I love you because you are unapologetically you.”
A source close to Christine, who separated from presenter husband Paddy in 2022 after 11 years of marriage, tells us the outcry has hit her hard. “Her raunchy comments haven’t gone down well. She’s hurt and very upset over the backlash, because she’s so sensitive. It’s difficult, there have been such nasty comments about her, when she was just being honest. She just thinks she can’t win.”
The fallout began after Christine – who is rumoured to have become close to former Olympic boxer Nicola Adams, despite being seen enjoying a kiss recently with former flame, DJ Roxxxan – appeared on a recent episode of It Started With A Kiss.
During the podcast, she told presenters Amy Spalding and Gareth Valentino how she enjoys vibrators and Japanese bondage in the bedroom – saying “It’s so good!” She also opened up about a night at a hotel with a “gorgeous” woman, when she told her date, “You might be a gold-star lesbian, but I’m a five-star lesbian.”

Christine, who later admitted she “wildly overshared” on the podcast, also told of her unusual set-up with comedian Paddy, 52. They still share their £6.5m Cheshire home while co-parenting their three autistic children – twins Leo and Penelope, 12, and nine-year-old Felicity – although the property has reportedly been on the market for over a year.
In the chat, the podcasters asked Christine if she discusses other women with Paddy. “Are you showing him pictures like, ‘Oh look at her, she’s fit. What do you think of her?’” they asked. She replied, “There’s times where we have, yeah.” Speaking of their living arrangements, Christine added, “We’re very fortunate, we live in a lovely big home… it just works.”
She also revealed that she hopes to settle down with a woman, saying, “I would love to have a wife one day, not like a legalised marriage, but like a blessing, a celebration of love and all of that, I would love to just be saying, ‘This is my wife!’”
With rumours that she and Strictly star Nicola, 43, have grown close, the two were spotted at the DIVA Awards in London recently. Although nothing has been confirmed, an insider at the event claimed they looked “like a couple”.
Last year, Nicola split from her partner of seven years, model and influencer Ella Baig – with whom she welcomed a son, Taylor Nate, via IVF in July 2022. However, Nicola once admitted that Ella’s OnlyFans career had taken a toll, saying, “As much as I respect what she does, I can’t deny that it has had an impact on our relationship.”

Meanwhile, Christine said her autism diagnosis in 2021 helped her see her marriage to Paddy was floundering. On the 2023 BBC doc Unmasking My Autism, she said, “I was only 19 when I met Patrick and for the last 15 years my role has been wife and mum. When I was diagnosed, I set out on a journey to find out who I was. I’ve separated from my husband in the process, I’m shedding my old identity and finding out who I am.”
In the wake of their split, the couple released a statement saying it was a “difficult decision” but that their main focus was to “continue loving and supporting our children.”
Last year, Christine dropped out of E4 show Celebs Go Dating after only two weeks as she felt uneasy. She said, “I joined with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me. ”
In recent months she has felt ready to date again, saying on It Started With A Kiss, “I’m just seeing how things go, just figuring it out.” She added, “I’m trying to not plan too far ahead.”
However, her decision to talk about her sex life has come back to bite her, with our source stressing, “She only spoke about it because everyone is always asking questions like, ‘Will she get back with Paddy? What sort of bloke is she looking for?’ But she doesn’t want another Paddy. She doesn’t want another man – she’s really interested in women and wants a girlfriend.”
