Adam Thomasâ twin âso angryâ as he speaks out on Iâm A Celebrity row with David Haye
It comes as the actor spoke out and admitted he had been âbrokenâ by former boxer David Haye during Iâm A Celebâs South Africa spin-off
Adam Thomasâ twin, Love Island star Scott Thomas, has admitted he was âso angryâ watching his brother in Iâm A Celebrity⊠South Africa after the actor admitted he had been âbrokenâ by former boxer David Haye.
The Waterloo Road star took to social media over the weekend to speak out on his and Davidâs time in the Savannah after viewers were left furious at the sportsmanâs treatment of Manchester-born Adam during recent episodes of the Iâm A Celebrity⊠Get Me Out of Here spin-off.
Despite the series being pre-recorded last year, fans were quick to call for David to be removed from camp for his treatment of his fellow campmates, particularly Adam.
During Fridayâs (April 17) episode of the All Stars version of the ITV reality series, which will see one of 12 returning Iâm A Celeb stars crowned a show âlegendâ, Adam was seen lying in bed as he admitted he wasnât feeling well.
Reality star Gemma Collins tried to cheer him up by jokingly spoon feeding him. But when it came time to decide who was doing the next Bushtucker Trial, Adam, who has arthritis, was put forward by David, but said that it would be hard for him to do due to him feeling dehydrated.

This led to boxer David calling him out in front of his campmates. âDehydrated?! Weâve all got the same amount of water! Adam is doing it and thatâs it!â he fumed. When Adam said he could do it, but he wouldnât be on his top form and it wouldnât benefit the rest of camp, David continued: âWhen is your top form gonna come?â While Adam laughed it off, David continued to his other campmates: âWhy arenât we forcing this dude to go and do it. Coincidentally, every time thereâs something to do, heâs not feeling well!â
The likes of Scarlett Moffatt stepped in to tell David to lay off Adam and eventually, Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts agreed to head out on the trial. But viewers were angered by Davidâs treatment of Adam, which has now led to the former Emmerdale star speaking out.
Adam took to Instagram on Sunday (April 19) and shared a lengthy post opening up about how David affected him over the course of the pre-recorded series, which draws to a close with a live final this Friday (April 24). He wrote alongside a picture of him at the time of feeling unwell in his camp bed: âNot going to lie, this picture breaks my heart, as I know on the inside what I was dealing with and truth be told I thought it was all my fault. I now know thatâs not the realityâŠ
âMy time in Iâm a Celebrity South Africa was one of the toughest things Iâve ever been through, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Watching it back hasnât been easy at all. There were moments I felt pushed to my absolute limit, and if Iâm honest, times I didnât even recognise myself. Living with arthritis is something I donât really talk about, as much as I should doâŠbut in there it really took its toll.
âMy biggest fight was pretending to put on a brave face and trying to hide the pain! that can be exhausting within itself. There were days my body just didnât want to keep going, but I did.â

He continued: âI wonât sit here and say I handled everything perfectly, because I didnât. I wish I spoke up for myself sooner. I wish I stood my ground instead of trying to keep the peace, but Iâve learned that being kind doesnât mean being weak, and sometimes it takes going through tough moments to find your voice.
âSince coming out, Iâve taken time to process everything, and Iâm in a much better place now. I let go of the anger, had the conversations I needed to have, and chose peace. âWhat Iâm most proud of, is at times like this I wanted to walk, I wanted to quit but I didnât .
âEven when I wanted to walk away, even when it felt like too much, I never give up! and that means everything to me. He broke me in there, he pushed me to my limits, and Iâve told David this and heâs apologised and thatâs that! Iâve moved on now, am not one to hold a grudge.â
Thanking fans for their âlovely messages and all the kind wordsâ, Adam noted that âwe all face people and situations that try to break usâ. But it didnât take long for the post to rack up thousands of messages, including from his brothers as well as his past and present co-stars and fans.
It was twin brother Scott who expressed his anger, as he commented underneath the post: âI wish I could have been there for you my brotherâŠit makes me so angry that you went through thatâŠbut Iâm so proud of how youâve come out of the other side of all thisâŠthe strongest youâve ever been and on an incredible journeyâŠstanding in your power.â
He also shared Adamâs post to his Instagram Story and shared: âItâs tough watching my twin bro go through that in thereâŠmakes my blood boil! To see someoneâs pure heart be tested like that is hard to watch, especially my brothers. But I understand he had to go through his own journey in there and the man heâs become during/ since this experience has made me so proud! Love you @adamthomas21 and will always have your back.â
Meanwhile, Adam and Scottâs older brother, former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, tried to keep things light, as he responded to the post: âI would like to say i would stick up for you in there but hes not the guy to pick a fight with, we need to give @tonybellew a call bro.â
