Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced fresh humiliation in the wake of King Charles‘ state visit to the US. King Charles spent four days in the country with his wife, Queen Camilla, in a visit widely regarded as a roaring success. Their trip to the US has now been compared to Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan’s recent tour of Australia, with presenter Danica De Giorgio claiming the Duke of Sussex could learn something from his father.
She said: “King Charles delivered one of his finest speeches in front of a packed US congress. Perhaps the king’s son, the spare, aka Harry, could learn a thing or two from his father’s American tour.” Sky News contributor Louise Roberts went on to compare Charles’ state visit to the Sussexes’ “phony” tour of Australia.

She began: “This week’s US visit has been a triumph for King Charles. It has also been a fairly humiliating reminder of the difference between the monarchy and Montecito.
“The trip marked the 250th anniversary of America’s declaration of independence from Britain and Charles handled it with exactly the kind of discipline and glorious comic timing and professionalism Harry and Meghan would be lucky to imitate.”
Louise continued: “While the Sussexes continue to stage these bizarre, faux royal tours, most recently to our shores, Charles spent this week fulfilling the monarchy’s real purpose – representing Britain, not himself. That is the crucial distinction.
“The king’s job is not to land in a foreign country and start broadcasting his personal grievances. His job is diplomacy and Charles understands that instinctively.
She described Charles’ speech to Congress as “warm and politically intelligent” with “lashings of British charm”.
Louise went on to brand their state visit as the “perfect tour” before hitting out at Harry’s ill-timed remarks about Donald Trump while in Ukraine.
The Sky News star added: “Meanwhile, Harry is trapped in this odd space where he still wants the status of royalty. This is while spending most of his time, along with wife Meghan, disrespecting the institution that gave him relevance in the first place.
“The timing of his Ukraine intervention, lecturing President Trump about leadership just before his father’s major US visit only reinforced the point. But the fact remains. Buckingham Palace represents Britain, Harry represents Harry.”
