Prince Harry’s headline-making return to Britain has taken another unexpected turn, with the Duke of Sussex recording a new podcast episode alongside former England rugby star Joe Marler during his UK trip.
The appearance, teased ahead of its full release, shows Harry in a noticeably relaxed mood as he joins Joe Marler and co-host Jake Bhardwaj on Joe Marler Will See You Now. The podcast is known for mixing humour with heavier conversations, and the upcoming episode is expected to touch on trauma, coping mechanisms, identity and grief, while also allowing room for lighter moments.

‘Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex,’ Harry replied, to which podcast co-host Jake Bhardwaj (pictured) quipped: ‘It’s a long one’. Harry quickly responded: ‘Alright, Jake,’ causing huge laughter from the podcast hosts and crew members behind the camera.
In the teaser, Harry is asked to give his full name. He replies: “Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex.” When Bhardwaj jokes that it is “a long one”, Harry fires back with a quick “Alright, Jake,” sparking laughter from the hosts and crew.
The clip also shows Marler and Bhardwaj chanting “Duke, Duke, Duke” as Harry arrives on set, prompting Marler to laugh at the chaotic welcome. The moment gives royal watchers a glimpse of Harry leaning into humour at the end of a week that has been anything but quiet.

The podcast recording comes during one of Harry’s most closely watched UK visits in years. The Duke has been in Britain for a series of events linked to the Invictus Games, including the one-year countdown to Birmingham 2027. He has also visited Birmingham Children’s Hospital and held meetings connected to the Invictus Games Foundation.
But the biggest royal development came away from the cameras. According to reports, King Charles and Queen Camilla secretly hosted Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at Highgrove in Gloucestershire in what has been described as a private family occasion.
The reported reunion was particularly significant because Charles had not seen Archie and Lilibet in person since 2022, when the children were still very young. Meghan is said to have arrived in the UK quietly with the children after spending time in Europe, before travelling to Highgrove for the private meeting.
Buckingham Palace has refused to share details, with the encounter treated as a family matter. Still, the reported get-together has immediately fuelled speculation that the long-running freeze between Harry and his father may finally be softening, even if the wider royal rift remains unresolved.
Harry’s relationship with Prince William is still understood to be extremely strained. While Harry was carrying out Invictus-related engagements, William was supported by Princess Kate at the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup in Windsor, where the couple helped raise funds for charities close to their hearts.
The contrast was striking: one branch of the family focused on public charity duties in Windsor, while another quietly gathered behind closed doors in Gloucestershire for a reunion that had been years in the making.
Harry has also spoken warmly about his own family during the visit. While appearing with Alison Hammond in Birmingham, he said Meghan, Archie and Lilibet were proud of his work and added simply: “I love my family.” He also joked about accidentally calling football “soccer” after years of living in the United States.
The full Joe Marler podcast episode is scheduled for release on Monday, July 13, and is likely to attract huge attention. After a week of court fallout, Invictus appearances, security questions and a reported royal reunion, Harry’s podcast appearance adds yet another layer to a visit already packed with drama, humour and potential signs of reconciliation.
