David Beckham brought a touch of football royalty to Wimbledon as he returned to the Royal Box for the opening day of the famous tennis tournament.
The former England captain treated his mother Sandra to their annual day out at the All England Club, continuing a sweet family tradition that has become a familiar sight for fans. Dressed in a sharp grey suit, David looked relaxed and polished as he took his VIP seat beside his mum for the first day of action at SW19.
It was a quick change of sporting scenery for Beckham, who had only recently been in New Jersey watching England in the World Cup. After cheering on the national team across the Atlantic, he was back in London in time to enjoy one of the most glamorous events of the British summer calendar.

The Beckhams’ invite to the Royal Box wasn’t extended to David’s son Romeo and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull who were also spotted making their arrival, but had to settle for cheap seats
David and Sandra were seated near several high-profile guests, including Mary Berry and former tennis player Debbie Jevans. Behind them, more famous faces could be seen in the packed Royal Box, with Mark Rylance, Alexander Armstrong and Katherine Jenkins among those adding to the celebrity atmosphere.
The Beckham family presence did not end there. Romeo Beckham and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull were also seen arriving at Wimbledon, although they watched from the stands rather than joining David in the Royal Box. Romeo looked smart in a brown suit paired with a white T-shirt, while Kim chose a glamorous white dress in keeping with the elegant tennis-day mood.
The couple appeared to enjoy the occasion, smiling as they took in the action from their seats. Their appearance added another layer of interest for fans, who are always quick to spot the Beckham family at major sporting and fashion events.

Wimbledon day one was also packed with showbiz style elsewhere. Tess Daly drew attention as she continued to wear her wedding and engagement rings, while Amanda Holden arrived in a striking pinstriped outfit. Maura Higgins delivered one of the day’s most playful fashion statements with tennis-inspired heels, complete with tennis ball details.
Katherine Jenkins, Pixie Lott, Katherine Ryan, Ashley Roberts, Ronan and Storm Keating, Niall Horan and Amelia Woolley were also among the stars spotted at the event, turning the tournament’s opening day into a full celebrity parade.
Carol Kirkwood was another familiar face in attendance, appearing at Wimbledon after stepping back from her long-running BBC Breakfast weather role earlier this year. During the opening coverage, her successor Isa Guha paid tribute to Carol and wished her well, noting that no single presenter could truly replace her presence.

Beyond the celebrity arrivals, the famous Wimbledon queue also made headlines as huge numbers of fans descended on SW19 hoping to secure tickets.
For David Beckham, however, the day appeared to be about family, tradition and enjoying one of Britain’s biggest sporting occasions with his mother. His annual outing with Sandra has become a warm Wimbledon ritual, offering fans a softer glimpse of the star away from football, business and the global spotlight.
With Romeo and Kim also in attendance, the Beckham name once again became part of the Wimbledon conversation. From the Royal Box to the stands, the family’s presence helped make day one feel even more star-studded.
As the tournament got underway, the mix of tennis, celebrity style and classic SW19 atmosphere proved why Wimbledon remains one of the most watched social and sporting events of the summer.
