Prince George joined his mom Kate Middleton, along with King Charles and Queen Camilla, for the Festival of Remembrance in London Nov. 8, marking his first appearance at the annual event.
Prince George is stepping out with a purpose.
The 12-year-old son of Prince William and Kate Middleton accompanied his mom to the Royal British Legionâs Festival of Remembrance Nov. 8 at Royal Albert Hall in London, marking his first appearance at the annual ceremony.
For the occasion, the Princess of Wales, 43, wore an understated black dress featuring long sleeves and a white lace collar, while George was dressed in a dark suit and matching tie with white stripes. They each wore a red poppy on their garments as a symbol of respect for members of the military who died while in combat.

Also in attendance at the eventâwhich this year marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War IIâwere King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who sat next to the mother-son duo during the service. They were also joined by Charlesâ brother Prince Edward, who was seated nearby with his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
George has gradually become more involved in royal undertakings as he prepares for his eventual ascent to the throne. In the meantime, his dadâBritainâs current heir apparentâis doing his best to make the monarchy something the preteen is eager to be part of.

âThere are lots of things to think about with that,â William, 43, told Eugene Levy during an episode of The Reluctant Traveler released in October. âBut obviously, I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact peopleâs lives for the better.â
The Prince of Walesâwho is also dad to Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, with Kateâalso noted his desire to shield his kids from some of the pitfalls he and his brother Prince Harry endured in their youth.
âThat is caveated with, I hope we donât go back to some of the practices in the past, that Harry and I had to grow up in,â he went on, âand Iâll do everything I can to make sure we donât regress in that situation.â
