Bonnie Tyler remains in hospital in Portugal

Bonnie Tylerâs team has thanked a Welsh politician after she made a speech in the House of Commons, wishing the singer a âsafe and speedy recoveryâ. On Thursday May 14 MP for Neath and Swansea East and the deputy leader for Welsh Labour, Carolyn Harris asked the Leader to join her in sharing her support for âSwanseaâs own global superstarâ.

The Total Eclipse of the Heart singer remains seriously ill in hospital in Faro, Portugal after being placed into an induced coma following emergency surgery.
Whilst no further health update has been given since they revealed the star was still âseriously ill but stable in hospitalâ on Tuesday, May 12, Bonnie Tylerâs team have thanked the MP âduring this difficult time.â
They wrote: âThank you Carolyn Harris MP for extending your well wishes to Bonnie during this difficult time. We are so grateful. âTeam Bonnie.â

During her address to the Leader of the House of Commons, Ms Harris said: âThe Welsh, known for our singing, are currently united in concern for Swanseaâs own global superstar, Bonnie Tyler, who has been hospitalised in Portugal due to ill health.
âWill the Leader join me in wishing Bonnie a safe and speedy recovery and as the song that she first recorded in â88 says sheâs simply the best.â
Sir Alan Campbell MP replied that he was âsaddenedâ to hear of Bonnieâs illness and that she is âan inspirational voice to a generation. He also sent his best wishes to her family and her fans.
