GB News was halted to issue a devastating blow to King Charles ahead of his state visit across the pond to meet with Donald Trump. On Wednesday (April 15), Ellie Costello returned to the airwaves alongside guest host Alex Armstrong, who discussed the biggest stories hitting the headlines. It didnât take long for things to turn political as they welcomed Liberal Democrat minister Helen Morgan onto the show to discuss the monarchâs upcoming trip to Washington.
The Health Spokesperson revealed her party is âworriedâ about sending the 77-year-old King to the United States over fears that he âmay be badly treatedâ. She began: âI think the King is clearly a very skilled diplomat; I donât think anyone is going to argue with that point, but Donald Trump has insulted Britain on a number of occasions.
âIn recent weeks, he has stepped up those insults, but itâs happened a number of times over the last couple of years. He has suggested that he would invade Greenland, one of our most important allies.
âWe donât think Donald Trump is a reliable ally, and weâre worried about sending the King to a situation where he may potentially be badly treated.
âItâs humiliating to send the King to grovel to somebody whoâs openly insulted us, despite Keir Starmerâs best efforts to stay on the right side of Donald Trump. Heâs not a reliable ally, and we should be taking that into consideration.â
It was at this point that Ellie argued that this was the perfect time to send the King to meet with Trump, since the President considers him a friend. The broadcaster added after Sir Ed Davey called for the visit to be cancelled, which ultimately fell on deaf ears, that the political party is becoming irrelevant in the House of Commons.

The politician quickly shared examples from other politicians asking the monarch to reconsider his visit to America next week. She argued: âI donât think itâs Sir Ed that has called for the King not to go.
âI think Emily Thornberry, the chair of the Foreign Affairs committee, has also suggested that itâs inappropriate. So itâs not an isolated position by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think we need to consider whether constantly rewarding Donald Trump with glitz and baubles is the right answer.
âAs I said, Iâm sure the King is a very skilled diplomat and will handle the situation well, but our preference would be not to put him in that situation.â It didnât take long for fans to flock to social media to have their say on the royal debate online.
One user penned: âTrump is obsessed with the Royal Family. How could she think he would treat the King badly? Ridiculous [eyes rolling emoji].â Another agreed: âRidiculous comment. America is our biggest ally. Whether America can deal with our clown government we have to hope.â
A third echoed: âWhat a load of nonsense â Trump will make the King welcome like he normally does! It is Starmer who is not a reliable ally as shown in recent events!!â
