A woman who appeared on Channel 4âs A Place In The Sun has revealed how she was left so furious at one moment during the show, she almost stormed out.
Karen Morrall joined her husband Mark on the series back in 2021, as they hunted for their perfect home in Spain with the help of show host Lee Juggurnauth.
The couple had a budget of £150,000 for their new home, and went to view prospective properties in Torrevieja, Costa Blanca.
However, they returned home without purchasing any of them, admitting that while they found the team on hand helping them to find a property âpolite and pleasantâ, that they wouldnât do it again.
She hit out that some of the properties were a âwaste of timeâ, hitting out that because itâs on TV, the agents âdonât really know a lot about the local areaâ.
Speaking of her time on the show, Karen admitted that the behind-the-scenes was not as glamorous as it might be made out to be, with âlots of takesâ and often, waiting around.

She told The Express: âThe crew had a schedule of places that they took us to, and we didnât really get any input into it.
âThereâs a lot going on behind the scenes. They have to get permission from the owners to film in the properties. So, if one property was perfect for you but they couldnât get permission to film there, then they wouldnât show it to you.
âWe just had one day when they left us waiting in the car for a few hours because they couldnât gain entry to a property. I was furious and nearly walked.â
It comes after a couple on A Place In The Sun refused to sign the contract after getting a nasty shock once filming had wrapped up.
A recent instalment of A Place In The Sun: What Happened Next? saw property expert Ben Hillman return to Punta Prima, Menorca, to visit Whitney and Rose and their Spanish pad.
The couple appeared on APITS four years ago, and were on the look out for their dream home with a budget of ÂŁ90,000.
They ended up buying a two-bedroom apartment in Punta Prima for ÂŁ80,825, and were told at the time of buying that they could also be owners their garage for an extra ÂŁ8,500.
After taking a look at what they have done with the pad, the trio got talking about how it was buying a property abroad.
Ben pointed out: âYou bought this place for around ÂŁ85,000, remind me.â

Whitney replied: âYes it was ÂŁ85,000, with all the fees and everything else, it came in at just over ÂŁ100,000, including the garage.â
Ben then wanted to know how much they have spent since, and Whitney told him: âWeâve probably spent around âŹ4,500. Not terrible.
âWe got brand new boilers installed. We had to have the place rewired because the wiring was so old. We had to go through that, get it certificated.â
Ben asked: âHow did you deal with finding the correct electrician, knowing you needed a certificate for it?â
He told the presenter: âWe were really lucky because our agent, who we bought it through, she has more or less become a friend.
âSheâs been really good to us. Anything weâve needed, sheâs encouraged us to give her a call. And then sheâs arranged it.
âShe puts us in touch with an electrician, with anybody we needed. Sheâs been gold to us.â
Despite it going so well with help from their agent, the sale nearly didnât go through, when the couple received a nasty shock.
He explained: âEven when we were buying the place, one of the conditions was to have it cleared out because there was so much stuff in the garage.
âWhen we got there, there was still a hell of a lot of stuff in there.
âSo we said weâre not going to sign because we donât know how to get rid of all this stuff or what the potential costs could be.
âSo she actually went and got a load of bags and cleared it all herself. I think she had about three car loads.â
Ben was very impressed with the agent and said that she went âover and aboveâ.
It comes after Ben gasped âoh my!â as a couple revealed their propertyâs incredible four-year transformation after a string of renovations earlier this week.
TV presenter Ben returned to our screens on Tuesday to catch up with Nicola and Paul, who appeared on the Channel 4 show back in November 2020 to try and find their dream home.
The pair were keen to find a one/two bedroom apartment with a communal pool and their own outdoor space, near Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote and had a budget £180,000.
They fell in love with one of the apartments that Ben had shown them, and decided to put in an offer, which the owner accepted.
During the most recent episode of A Place In The Sun: What Happened Next?, Ben returned to the Canary Island to see how Nicola and Paul were doing in their new home.
Walking into the living space, Ben was lost for words and said: âOh my goodness, seriously, guys, this is incredible. Itâs a lot different.
âI mean, I get it itâs the same, like the layout is the same, which is what you loved but apart from that, my goodness it is completely new property, isnât it?â
