Love Island is back â and the first singletons have been revealed. These include a detective, an electrician, a nurse, a quantity surveyor and DJ, a businessman, a student from Barbados who lives in London, a school teacher, a real estate videographer, and a model.
The series is just days away from starting, with a fresh batch of singletons hoping to find the love of their life in the Majorcan villa during the summer of love, and ITV is pulling out all the stops this year. But one thing is certain, one singleton will not be played by any men in the villa.

Robyn Langton
Liverpudlian Robyn, 21, a quantity surveyor and DJ, says that everybody in the villa will be equal and sheâs hoping that nobody will think theyâre better than another person. She said of the type of person she doesnât want to meet: âSomeone full of themselves or someone who thinks theyâre better than everyone. Youâre never better than anyone next to you. Also, people who eat with their mouth open â itâs a no from me.â
But Robyn has her eyes firmly set on one type of man, although she admits she finds personalities attractive too. Sheâs hoping to meet a man who is âtall, fair, muscles, nice teeth, pretty boy.â A situationship is also off the cards for her. She explained: âFinding love is my only goal. There may be a little bit of drama but Iâm going in there for myself so Iâve got to do what Iâve got to do. But I would like to think Iâm a girlâs girl and that I handle situations quite well. Iâve got a mature brain.â
Robyn also says she wonât be quick to jump into a relationship; instead, she wants to really get to know her next partner. She explained: âI like to observe first. I wouldnât say Iâm a slow burner, but I like to take in someoneâs personality, how they carry themselves, and how they interact with other people. I wonât just rush into something; I have to genuinely like someone. And Iâm an absolute star, theyâve got to tick all the boxes before they even have a chance with me.â

Lorenzo admits heâs attracted to a womanâs arms(Image: ITV)
Lorenzo Alessi
And that leads us on to business owner Lorenzo Alessi, 28, from Hertfordshire. He admits heâs looking for a blonde girl, but hasnât ruled out any other hair colours. And heâs partial to dating a âposh girlâ. Lorenzo admits he has a ânicheâ attraction to one part of a womanâs body â her arms.
âI donât know why,â he said, adding: âItâs really strange! Imagine like a Jessica Alba or an Angelina Jolie kind of arm and neck, I find that very elegant. Very niche, I know!â
And like Robyn, he has no time for ill-mannered people; instead, he prefers high maintenance when itâs âdone rightâ. âIf someone is rude with it and not good fun or good vibes, Iâd find that quite irritating,â he commented. But unlike Robyn, Lorenzo admits heâs hoping for drama in the villa.
âAs long as no one is crying, all is fair in love and war,â he said. Speaking of the competition heâll be up against, he went on to say: âIâm very much a self-deprecating person, so if I and another guy were interested in the same girl, Iâd encourage her to go and speak to him, thatâs how Iâd navigate the situation. Sometimes it ends up working, reverse psychology!â

Mica Harris
Mica Harris, 21, a student from Barbados but living in London, says sheâs after a tall man, as sheâs quite tall herself. âI like a little bit of a buffer, a bigger guy,â she said, adding that personality is most important when it comes to finding a boyfriend.
One type of person she will not entertain is an âegotistical cringeyâ man; instead, she wants her boyfriend to be totally obsessed with her. And although sheâs looking for love, she also wants drama. She revealed: âObviously the whole point is finding love and thatâs going to be my main goal. Iâm not saying Iâm going to start drama but if there is drama going on, I would obviously be a little bit nosey and want to know whatâs going on.â
And sheâs not going to hold back on the quest to find a partner. âIf I have my eyes set on someone, obviously Iâm going to pursue them,â she disclosed, before adding: âBut if theyâre not reciprocating that then Iâm going to take a step back, have a think, and change directions and think about who else I could explore with.â

And his male co-stars ought to be worried as heâs quite competitive, having played Gaelic football. âIf I see someone I like, Iâm going for it and nothingâs gonna stop me,â he said.

Ellie Chadwick
Real estate videographer Ellie Chadwick, 24, from West Lothian, however, has her type sorted. âSimple⊠tall, dark and handsome,â she said, adding: âIf itâs not broken, donât fix it. Itâs a classic for a reason. Nice teeth, nice tattoos, partial to a blonde as well. Pretty face. Look like youâre going to break my heart but like, please donât.â
And although she likes confident men, anybody who is too cocky will be shown the door by her. She does, however, want to find love, but says that she wonât turn her nose up at drama.
Speaking about her relationship strategy, Ellie added: âYou canât go in too keen but youâve got to make them know youâre interested. But, I also like someone that chases me. Theyâve got to come up and meet me at the halfway line. But I will go to the goal if I need to. Offside? Who knows? I guess weâll see.â

Samraj Toor
Model Samraj Toor, 25, from Birmingham, says he hasnât got a type on paper. He said: âIf you look at my history of dating, all girls have been different! I like the way a woman carries herself, her mannerisms. I like that.â This time, heâs hoping to find someone who walks in who thinks theyâre âright by being the loudest person in the room, who wants to pick an argument.â
And heâs also here for the drama, as well as love. He commented: âI like a bit of both! Best case scenario Iâm walking out with someone I really connect with. My first girlfriend. But I donât mind a bit of drama, itâs fun! As long as no one is getting hurt.â
Reflecting on his plan to handle the show, he said: âIâm competitive with everything in my life, competition doesnât phase me. Iâm actually looking forward to it because Love Island is going to find the best single guys. Iâm really intrigued to see how I match up against other people.â
Samraj also doesnât have to chase people too much outside the villa; instead, he has women chasing him. He revealed: âWithout sounding arrogant, in the outside world I donât really chase that much, Iâm used to girls coming to me. I know in the Villa itâs a different dynamic. In the beginning Iâm not going to be pushing myself out there, Iâm just gonna watch and see who I like and then go from there.â

Detective Lola wants âquite a bigâ man to cuddle up with(Image: Joel Anderson/Shutterstock)
Detective Lola, 28, from Kent, admits she can âbe a bit of a brat,â especially if sheâs âhangryâ. In the villa, sheâs looking for an âItalian-lookingâ man, with dark hair, although she always ends up with blonde guys with light eyes. âI like someone who is quite big, as in a good cuddler, good muscles kind of way,â she said.
She went on to add: âI think funny goes such a long way. I like someone who is smart who can teach me things. I like book smart but even if theyâre not book smart I like someone who is like actually teaching me stuff. Someone who does everything for me but I canât take the p**s.â
In the villa, sheâs hoping that a cocky person doesnât walk through, as there are âso manyâ things that give her âthe ickâ. She explained: âIf someone says they are a cheeky chappy that makes me sick to my core.â Another thing she wonât settle for, is men who wear backpacks.
She wonât, however, be looking for drama as sheâs a âchilled personâ, although she does enjoy watching drama unfold. âIâm really looking for love, I want a boyfriend again. I want to find someone who is actually the love of my life, like obsessed with me kind of thing,â Lola said.

Sam Workman
Samuel, 25, an electrician from Dudley, is hoping to find a woman who is âclassy, mature, blonde, fun, and someone who doesnât take themselves too seriously.â He doesnât want to see a rude person walk through the doors, adding: âThereâs no reason you canât get along with people.â Samuel says he cannot stand âfake or two-faced people.â Instead, he much prefers honesty.
After a year of being single and dating, heâs finally ready to settle down. After being shy about his feelings when he isnât interested in a woman, Sam says his dating tactic is to âdefinitely go straight for the goal.â

Angelista will be avoiding drama(Image: Joel Anderson/Shutterstock)
Angelista
Nurse Angelista, 24, from Staffordshire, wants to find a confident man with ânice teethâ who will listen to her. Sheâs hoping somebody who enjoys being the centre of attention wonât walk through the doors this year. âFinding love is my goal. Iâm not here for drama, Iâm non-confrontational. Itâs entertaining to watch from the sidelines, I just donât want to be involved in it,â she said of her intentions in the villa.
Speaking about how sheâs going to approach the competition, she said: âIâll put myself in the position to be seen by the guys so they know Iâm interested, but Iâm not gonna beg it. Iâll be in the mix, 100 per cent, Iâm not watching in the back.â

Ope is swapping the West End for the Love Island villa(Image: ITV)
Ope Sowande
West End performer Ope, 27, will be making the villa home for the summer, and insisted that he hasnât âreally got a typeâ, but is hoping to steer clear of anyone with ânegative energyâ. He also conceded that he has âsuch a wandering eyeâ when it comes to relationships.
Teasing what we could be seeing on our screens, the Lincolnshire-native vowed: âIâm never playing anything safe, thatâs boring. My thing is to go for the goal and make someone laugh straight away. I think thatâs the key to love and the key to getting girls.
âMy ultimate thing in life is to make people feel comfortable around me, so as soon as that happens, Iâm sweet. And Iâve got the best smile in Britain.â

Jasmine Muller
Jasmine, a fashion business owner from Dubai, declared that she is looking for an âobjectively hot, really charismatic and confidentâ man, but also announced that she is ready to get stuck into the âdramaâ.
âI live for it. Iâm always involved in everyoneâs business,â the 27-year-old admitted. âIâm basically the auntie of the group. Everyone literally calls me âJasmine Auntie.â So bring me love, bring me drama, bring all of it.â
The Sun reports that Jasmine once dated Arsenal footballer Héctor Bellerin, 31, who now plays in Spain.

Aidan insisted that he will âbe himselfâ in the villa(Image: ITV)
Aidan Murphy
This yearâs batch of contestants is rounded out by 23-year-old Aidan, a property broker from Kent. He said of his type: âPersonality is the most important thing for me. Obviously, I know if I find someone physically attractive but if weâre not connecting, laughing, and having a good time, it just wouldnât work for me.
âI like someone whoâs fun, can take a joke and doesnât take themselves too seriously. If weâre constantly laughing and getting on, thatâs what matters most.â
Lifting the lid on his game plan, he added: âIâll speak to as many people as possible and get to know everyone. For me, itâs about being myself. Iâm confident in my personality, so I think that will come across naturally.â
