The Brisbane Lions have reportedly been hit by more relationship drama following Jack Payneâs split from his girlfriend, Bronte Dagg.
The AFL defender, 26, dated the model for eight months in 2025, but their relationship reportedly came to a dramatic end in October following a âmajor betrayalâ.
According to a source, Dagg felt a shift in the relationship after the Lions triumphed in the AFL Finals in September, which Payne missed out on due to a knee injury.
âAfter the grand final, she just thought something was going wrong,â the source claimed to the Daily Telegraph.
The source added that after confronting Payne, the Miss Universe Australia 2024 finalist felt the trust had gone in their relationship and decided to call it quits.
A spokesperson for Brisbane Lions has declined to comment on the split.
It comes after the Lions have been subject to increased scrutiny following ex-co-captain Lachie Nealeâs bombshell split from wife Jules.
Earlier this month, Neale announced he was stepping down as co-captain and issued a public apology.
âI can confirm that Jules and I have separated. I have let my family down and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me,â the AFL star told a press conference.
Jules has now moved back to her home in Perth with their two children: Piper, four, and Freddie, one.
The hairdresser previously revealed how she had been âbetrayed in the most unimaginable wayâ when reports of issues within their marriage emerged in December.
âI want to make it very clear that I am not âworking throughâ anything. I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way. All I can do now is try to heal and do whatâs best for my children,â she wrote in an explosive Instagram post.
Jules also publicly slammed her ex-best friend, Tess Crosley, branding her an âidiotâ and demanding she remove images of them together on social media.
âTake these down you idiot, youâre embarrassing yourself,â Jules wrote under Tessâs picture from the AFL Finals.
This week, new details have emerged about the end of their marriage, alleging Lachie and Tess were found in a âcompromising positionâ in a car by another AFL WAG.
According to the Herald Sun, the WAG sought advice from another footy starâs partner before informing Jules what she had seen.
Lachie and Jules married in 2018Â after a whirlwind romance.
His contract with the Brisbane Lions is due to expire at the end of this year and it is not yet known whether it will be renewed.
