The Pitt star Noah Wyle opens up about what fans can expect from Season 3 just days after the Season 2 finale. Unfortunately, part of that is finding out âwhat rock bottom looks like.â
Speaking to Deadline, The Pitt star, who portrays Doctor Michael âRobbyâ Robinavitch on the hit medical drama, discussed what fans can look forward to in Season 3, especially when it comes to his own characterâs personal trajectory. âI think what heâll find is that he hasnât been himself for a really long time, and if he had been aware of his own behavior, he wouldnât feel very proud of himself,â Wyle said in regard to Dr. Robbyâs downward spiral in Season 2.
Dr. Robbyâs Journey Through The Pitt Season 2 â Explained
âI donât think he was feeling very proud of himself even while he was exhibiting that behavior. I think a lot of that was projection against how he didnât want to feel,â Wyle explained. âIt was hard to see weakness in others when you donât want to see it in yourself.â
Wyle went on to discuss Dr. Robbyâs relationship with Surpiya Ganeshâs Dr. Samira Mohan, who he consistently pushes to live up to her immense potential, in part as a coping mechanism for his own shortcomings. âHis tough love attitude with her is totally inappropriate and unprofessional, but itâs grounded in a desire for her to see herself the way he sees her, which is a lot more talented and a lot more full of potential,â Wyle added.
What Can Fans Expect from The Pitt Season 3?
Although specific plot details for The Pitt Season 3 remain tightly under wraps, Wyle did offer fans some insight into where things are headed. âThe thesis of Season 1 is the doctor is the patient. Season 2, doctors donât make very good patients. Season 3, doctors benefit from being patients,â Wyle said during The Pitt panel as PaleyFest in Los Angeles.
The Pitt is currently available for streaming on HBO Max. Season 3 is currently expected to arrive in January 2027.
