With Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsey missing, actress Olivia Frances Brown has confirmed the character’s fate while also hinting that something about her past could explain her actions

As questions are raised around Coronation Street villain Jodie Ramsey’s fate after her vanishing act, one actress has teased all.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Jodie actress Olivia Frances Brown has addressed her character’s future in Weatherfield. Revealing what she hopes will happen, she hinted that there’s plenty we do not know.
With that, Olivia and co-star Julia Goulding, who plays Jodie’s sister Shona Platt, suggested it was time to explore their past. Olivia suggested that this, and the truth about what went on with their dad, would explain to viewers why Jodie is the way that she is.

After her scheming ways, Olivia reckons fans will have an understanding of the character once they know what she has been through. Julia told us: “I would love to explore some of their past more. We’ve got a dad.”
Olivia agreed: “It would be great to explore that some more. I think the history with Jodie’s dad is a big part of why she is the way she is, and nobody really understands that fully yet.

“So I would like to touch on it some more.” Julia added: “It’s the reason she’s messed up.” Olivia went on: “She is messed up for a reason. She’s not just another villain, she’s more complex than that. She’s quite layered.”
Both star believe the recent revenge drama by Jodie aimed at Shona and her husband David Platt won’t come between them. The pair teased what we would see from the sisters going forward, and Olivia revealed her hopes for Jodie.
Olivia told us: “I think they are very bonded and I don’t think there’s much that can shake them. Temporarily maybe, but they are always gonna find a way back to each other.
Julia agreed: “That sisterly bond I’d like to think is unbreakable. Sisters fight, I’d personally love the bond to be unbreakable.” Olivia shared: “I hope we can start getting on properly at some point,” to which Julia replied: “And having each others’ backs.”
Olivia quipped: “We need a good sister duo don’t we. I hope Jodie gets help with her mental health and gets some of that happiness she has been longing for. That would be nice.”
Onscreen at the moment, Shona and David have been left wondering what happened to Jodie, fearing she had been kidnapped by the people who were after her. What they don’t know is that Jodie fled after attacking David’s sister Sarah Platt at the house.
