Piers Morgan has taken another jibe at Green Party leader Zack Polanski after he falsely claimed the Golders Green terror suspect had been handcuffed. The TalkTV star shared a clip from the ITV programme Peston, where host Robert Peston called out Polanski live on air for his error. âYou do seem to have a slight habit of getting the wrong words,â Peston shared as the Green Party politician appeared on this programme. âOn the BBC this morning, you talked about the alleged terrorist being handcuffed, but he wasnât handcuffed by the police.â Polanski replied: âWell, he was tasered and immobile with his face down, and again, when I am being honest and when things are moving quickly, you will make mistakes.

âI think it is important to be clear about the mistakes you make. And again, I am a human being, I am fallible, and there has been a long election campaign. I think most people can hear what I am trying to do and that I am out there.
âGreen Party councillors have two vested interests. We want to protect the people who were elected to serve in their communities and protect the planet.â
Morgan captioned the X post with the video of Polanski with a one-word insult. He penned: âNo mate, youâre a clown.â
His comment sparked a wave of reaction, with one person writing: âOh god no, donât make me like a Piers Morgan post.â Another said: âHumility and honesty are rare qualities in human beings, full stop, never mind in politicians. Itâs no surprise that you, Piers Morgan, donât recognise it when you see it.â
However, a third person added: âItâs more than a mistake. Itâs a flat-out lie.â Someone else remarked: â@ZackPolanski, the police were moving at a fast pace. You were watching a recording on a screen. You had plenty of time to form a considered opinion. You didnât.â
The interview comes after Polanski criticised the police for kicking the head of the Golders Green stabbing suspect to get him to hand over his knife. He later apologised for his retweet, saying he had done it âin hasteâ.
The latest YouGov data has revealed that negative attitudes towards Polanski have risen following the incident.
