Gogglebox castâs surprising day jobs exposed beyond hit Channel 4 show
As well as being sofa critics, some Gogglebox stars have maintained careers away from Channel 4.

Gogglebox quickly became a fan favourite show after premiering on Channel 4 in 2013. For more than a decade, it has welcomed a revolving door of family and friends who become self-proclaimed sofa experts, sharing opinions, hilarious moments, and unforgettable commentary on some of the most mundane TV shows. While many have shot to stardom through Gogglebox and have embraced the fame it brings, others have continued to cover the show part-time and maintained a full-time career.
Here are the Gogglebox stars and their real-life jobs away from the show.
Ellie and Izzi Warner

These sisters from Leeds joined the show in 2015, and 11 years on, Ellie and Izzie are one of the most popular duos, cracking us up with their hilarious banter and love of food.
Izzi is mum to her son Bobby and daughter Bessie Rose. She is also a qualified mortgage advisor and runs her own business, Izzi Warner Mortgages. While her elder sister, Ellie, is a hairdresser in Leeds.
Amira and Amani

Amira and Amani are sisters who live in North London and are occasionally joined by a family friend, Iqra. Amira first joined the show in season 10 with her friend Iqra, but her sister Amani was later added in.
While their jobs are unknown, in 2019, Amira completed her degree and posted a picture of her graduation on Instagram, saying that she had made âlife long friendsâ who she cherishes âdeeply and massively respectsâ
The Siddiquis

This family have been on Gogglebox since its inception, with Baasit, Umar and their dad Sid becoming much-loved by viewers.
The family hails from Derby, and other members, such as sibling Raza and mum, often make an appearance as well.
Retired Sid qualified as a Power Engineer from the University of Derby and previously worked for the NHS for 37 years.
Umar has worked in the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology at the Royal Derby Hospital for close to 17 years, while Baasit has been a teacher in a secondary school since 2007.
Dave and Shirley

This beloved couple are much-loved members of Gogglebox for their funny one-liners and their loving bickering.
David and Shirley have been married for 40 years and have two children together. They joined the show in 2015, filming from the comfort of their home in Wales.
Outside of their front room, Dave is a cleaner in a factory, and Shirley, 66, works in retail.
The Malones

The Malones are Goggleboxâs longest-serving family, having joined the show in season four. However, since season 17, Tom Jnr no longer appears on the Channel 4 show.
Theyâre adored by fans for the straight-to-the-point remarks, plethora of cakes and adorable dogs.
Tom Sr is a lorry driver, while mum Julie is a receptionist.
Tom Jnr is a freelance model and street dance choreographer â he has even performed with the Black Eyed Peas and appeared in Billy Elliott until he turned his hand to coaching football.
His brother Shaun is a football coach.
Pete and Sophie

These chuckling siblings hail from Blackpool and first joined the cast in 2017, when everyone fell in love with their humour and eccentric mugs.
As for their jobs, Sophie works as a shop window dresser in Blackpool, while Pete reportedly works in insurance.
In 2021, Pete became a dad for the first time.
The Plummers

Brothers Tremaine, Twaine and Tristan Plummer joined Gogglebox in series eight from their home in Bristol.
Theyâre all sports mad, with Tristan being a winger for Hereford FC, Twaine playing for Bradford Town, and Tremaine being a chef.
Giles and Mary

This couple joined the cast in 2015 and instantly won fans with their creativity and sense of humour.
Although itâs not known what he does for a living, in series 15, Giles revealed he actually retired at the age of 21.
Meanwhile, itâs understood that Mary writes as an agony aunt for an online magazine.
The pair are also reportedly good friends with former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Simon and Jane

Simon and Jane are siblings who have been Gogglebox regulars since 2021.
The pair film from Simonâs North London flat, are known among Gogglebox fans for their great sense of humour and healthy range of snacks.
Simon is a disability consultant and presenter outside of Gogglebox, being the co-host of disability podcast BBC Ouch!.
Janeâs career is unknown, but she is a keen baker, having posted a photo of herself working in a kitchen making cakes.
Jenny and Lee

These Gogglebox icons have been making fans cry with laughter since the fourth season in 2014.
The best pals landed their spot on the show when Jenny met two of the showâs researchers at Beverley Races Ladiesâ Day, and they reportedly signed her up on the spot.
Although itâs unclear what caravan besties, Jenny and Lee, do for a living, they met when Jenny was the landlady of the Crown Inn pub in Paull, and Lee was a regular customer.
Sue and Steve

Sue and Steve are a married couple from South London who joined the show as a duo in 2019.
While they keep their personal life fairly private, social media reveals that they are avid travellers and are proud parents to two daughters, Leah and Kate, and grandparents to their grandson, Roman.
Sue is semi-retired, and Steve is a black cab driver.

Abi and Georgia

Hailing from Durham are friends Abbie and Georgia.
Together, theyâve been on the show since 2018, with some of their unforgettable moments being their reaction to the 2018 John Lewis ad.
Away from screens, Georgia is a hairdresser, while Abbie has worked in credit control for three years.
