Katie Price has shared a deeply emotional update about her son Harvey Price, revealing that a distressing series of incidents saw him smash two iPads, household furniture and later break windows, both before and after returning to residential care.

Speaking candidly on the latest episode of The Katie Price Show podcast, the 47-year-old mother-of-five described a heartbreaking fortnight that left her emotionally drained and searching for answers.

“I’ve had Harvey with me for the past two weeks and he’s not been good,” Katie explained. “He didn’t want to go back. He was crying — and it reminded me of when he was younger.”

According to Katie, Harvey’s distress quickly escalated inside the family home.

“He threw my bedroom furniture around,” she said. “My tropical lights with the big bulbs — I’ve got two of them — he smashed them. He completely smashed his iPad. It’s not even fixable.”

The situation became so intense that staff reportedly hesitated over transporting him back to care.

“They weren’t even going to take him in the car to the train station because he was that bad,” she admitted.

But the turmoil did not stop once Harvey returned to residential care.

“Then all week I’ve had messages from where he is,” Katie revealed. “There are massive windows in his room and they’ve made it Harvey-proof — but he’s popped two of them out. He’s also broken another iPad that he’s got.”

Trying to understand the cause behind the destructive behaviour, Katie asked staff what they believed was triggering the episodes.

“I said, ‘What’s causing it?’ and they said, ‘It’s because he wants you,’” she shared. “He just loves being at home with me.”

Katie’s sister Sophie, who co-hosted the episode, asked how long Harvey would remain in his current placement before moving into his new home.

“We’re looking at it next week,” Katie replied, before adding quietly: “It’s been a tough week with Harvey. He just wants to see me all the time.”

Harvey lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects muscle tone, development and the nervous system. In addition, he has autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder — a complex combination that requires specialist, round-the-clock care.

This is not the first time Katie has spoken about such incidents. Back in 2021, she revealed she was shocked after discovering Harvey had smashed his TV, computer and lights while living at college.

At the time, however, she surprised many by admitting the damage reassured her.

“I told the staff I was happy he’d done all that,” she explained then. “Because now I knew he was really settling in.”

She added that the experience helped staff fully understand the realities she has lived with for years.

“They are now living and breathing what I’ve had all of these years,” she said.

Earlier this month, Katie also shared a hopeful update: Harvey is preparing to move into his own place, just 15 minutes away from her.

“He should be moving at the end of this month,” she told listeners. “I can’t wait. They’re just finishing off regulations and building stuff because it’s all brand new.”

Determined to make the transition as comforting as possible, Katie revealed she has been carefully kitting out his new home.

“I’m getting him a green Smeg kettle and toaster, new plates and knives — the same as how I kitted Junior’s out,” she said. “I’ve bought him a new sofa, bed, all the bedding. I want it to feel like a home from home.”

Behind the headlines and shock details lies a raw picture of motherhood — one filled with exhaustion, unconditional love and the constant balancing act between independence and protection.
