Ant McPartlin has recalled the moment a relaxed family brunch took a hilarious turn, after his wife Anne-Marie requested they leave.
The presenter married Anne-Marie in 2022, and they welcomed their first child together, son Wilder, in 2024.
Anne-Marie recently unveiled her post-baby glow-up, including a dramatic new hair makeover while she and Ant attended a UNICEF charity event.
Ant has now shared an amusing tale from a brunch outing with his wife, their son, and Anne-Marie’s mother, where she demanded they leave after she spotted the chef working in the restaurant ‘picking his nose.’
Speaking to his presenting partner Declan Donnelly, Ant said: ‘Well this is the thing, so I went to this really lovely restaurant. It’s just been done up right? You go in and you can see the chef’s cooking.
‘So we go and sit down, and my mother-in-law’s like ”have whatever you want, I’m ordering, have whatever, have the fry-up if you want.’

Speaking on their Hanging Out With Ant and Dec podcast, he continued: ‘Well I haven’t had breakfast so I am quite hungry. She goes ”yeah have the fry-up, they do this, they do this here.” Wilder’s going ”daddy, daddy, daddy.”
‘And the waitress comes over and she’s running through the specials. My wife’s like ”let’s make sure we eat now, because then we won’t need lunch when we get back because it’s a late breakfast.” Not brunch.
‘And then Wilder can have a little bite to eat and it’s two birds with one stone.
‘So anyway she’s running through the specials, my wife gets the menu like that and just goes ”oh my God,” really loudly, and it shocks all of us.
‘The waitress stops talking. Wilder stops talking, Mother-in-law stops talking… and she gives no explanation, she goes ”we’ll have croissants.” I’m like ”what?” and she looks at me and goes ”we’ll have croissants.”
And I’m like ”this is brunch, I mean this is an early lunch, late breakfast, there’s a fry-up on there, my mother-in-law’s paying for it!”
”So anyway, I do as I’m told and I order a croissant, so we had three coffees, four croissants. And then the waitress goes ”OK thank you,” walks off quite confused.
‘I went ”what the hell was all that about?” and she went ”I’ve just seen the chef picking his nose.”
She said ”we can’t eat here now.” I said ”we’ve just ordered croissants!” She went: ”we can’t. If that chef picks up the croissants with those boggy fingers, then I can’t.” She goes ”we can’t eat here. I’m going to have to go and say.”

Ant said Anne-Marie urged him to speak to the chef, but eventually she spoke to the waitress and asked her whether the chef would be ‘handling the croissants.’
The waitress kindly offered to bag up the croissants and coffees for them and they immediately paid and left.
Ant could barely keep his hands off his wife at the Sports Relief for UNICEF event last week, where she showed off her slimmed down figure in a very sexy £1,140 designer lace-trimmed satin gown by Rabanne which had a daring plunging neckline.
Anne-Marie – who has no social media presence – is fiercely private but her husband can’t resist talking about her when he gets the chance.
He recently gave his best friend Declan Donnelly ‘the ick’ and urged him to ‘keep it to the bedroom’ when he revealed on their podcast that he can’t stop kissing his wife, saying: ‘We do kiss a lot. It’s one of the things I like to do.’
Ant and Anne-Marie love to have spa treatments together, even gifting them to those who attended their wedding as a sweet gesture.
Ant got hyper-fixated by cryotherapy treatments, that he went once a day for a year until the place closed down.
One huge lifestyle change has been the family’s major home upgrade.
They traded in their £6million Wimbledon home for a quieter £10million gated pad in Cobham, Surrey in February.
