King Charles paid tribute to British Asians at a star-studded London reception as he dined with television stars Sanjeev Bhaskar and Konnie Huq.
The monarch grinned while shaking hands with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry and public service.
Former Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid was among those in attendance – with the guest list also featuring a mix of philanthropists and entrepreneurs.
Last night’s gathering at the Peninsula Hotel in central London marked the beginning of celebrations ahead of the British Asian Trust’s 20th anniversary in 2027.
Charles, who serves as founding patron of the charity, was greeted by Hitan Mehta, the Trust’s Chief Executive, on his arrival.
Former Blue Peter presenter Ms Huq was seen with her husband, screenwriter Charlie Brooker, known for creating the hit Netflix series Black Mirror.
Meanwhile Dame Meera, known for Goodness Gracious Me, smiled as she shook Charles’ hand alongside her husband and former co-star, Sanjeev Bhaskar.
Held in central London, the event also included a performance from singer-songwriter Jay Sean, 45 – best known for his song Down with US rapper Lil Wayne.

Mr Sean, whose tracks also include a hit song in Punjabi and English, said the invitation to perform served as a ‘beautiful reminder’.
He said: ‘The gala is a very prestigious thing that celebrates all of the sort of contribution from British Asians in this country.
‘It’s nice to be recognised for those achievements.
‘It’s kind of like a beautiful reminder of just how you’ve spent your career and the impact that you’ve had on people.’
The British Asian Trust was established in 2007 by Charles, then Prince of Wales, alongside a group of British Asian business leaders.
It has since branched out to operate programmes in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka which focus on mental health, education, livelihoods, child protection and conservation.
In one photograph from the event, Charles could be seen walking through crowds of diners as guests clapped.
Stand-out fits from the night included a stunning neon silver two-piece crop top and skirt worn by singer and model Thara Prashad and a traditional beige-coloured embroidered outfit worn by actress Mahira Khan.

At a previous annual trust dinner in 2015, Charles, then Prince of Wales, was said to be ‘giggly’ with guests – who at the time included former X Factor contestant and Ghost singer Ella Henderson and stand-up comedian Romesh Ranganathan.
Charles was dapper in black tie and a natty patterned pocket square while his wife Camilla looked resplendent in a floor-length plum velvet gown lined with matching silk.
The royal pair hosted the event at the Banqueting House, Whitehall, along with singer Ella Henderson, Simon Cowell and Holly Valance, to raise money for the charity.
During the evening, Prince Charles was also pictured talking to X Factor judge Louis Walsh and Chelsea footballer Cesc Fabregas.
