🎥 Justin Baldoni and wife Emily break silence in emotional video amid ongoing Blake Lively legal fallout

Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily have returned to social media with a carefully worded but emotional message, marking their first major public comments after a long period of silence around the actor’s high-profile legal battle with Blake Lively.

The couple appeared together in an Instagram video, telling followers that they had not spoken publicly for much of the past two years, not because they had nothing to say, but because the timing had never felt right. This time, they said, felt different.

Baldoni, 42, acknowledged that there was “so much to say,” while Emily explained that finding the right words had been difficult. The pair made clear they were not going to address every part of the dispute in one sitting, but hinted that more may come later.

Their message arrived as the ongoing fallout from the It Ends With Us controversy continues to draw attention. According to the report, Lively has sought millions in legal fees connected to Baldoni’s failed defamation case, while representatives for Lively had not yet responded to the latest comments at the time of publication.

In the video, Emily spoke about gratitude, but said that feeling grateful did not erase what she described as the “injustice” and pain the family had experienced in recent years. She also appeared to criticise the way the controversy had been framed as a wider fight for women, saying there was “so much to unpack.”

Baldoni then spoke about the emotional toll on his family, saying they were healing but that healing was not a straight line. He said the situation had forced them to rethink what was real and what mattered most, pointing to their children, family, friends, community and faith.

The couple also thanked supporters who had stood by them online. Baldoni said that when he and Emily felt they did not have a voice, many people had spoken up for them, adding that even a simple thank you did not feel big enough.

At the centre of the story remains the legal battle that followed Lively’s claims against Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company. Lively previously sued over alleged defamation and alleged misconduct connected to the making of It Ends With Us. Baldoni strongly denied the allegations and later brought his own defamation claim against Lively, Ryan Reynolds and The New York Times.

Baldoni said he and his wife hadn't spoken publicly for 'the better part of the last two years' because 'it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this where we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn't feel like the right time'

All sides have denied the allegations made against them. The report states that Baldoni’s $400 million defamation case was dismissed in October 2025, and that Lively later settled after most of her own claims were dismissed. She was not paid money in the settlement, but the judge allowed her to seek legal fees related to Baldoni’s unsuccessful case against her.

Those fees are now another flashpoint. Court filings reportedly put Lively’s request at more than $7.4 million in legal fees and more than $500,000 in expenses, with further costs expected to lift the total even higher.

The dispute has repeatedly spilled beyond the courtroom and into wider celebrity conversation. The article also notes that Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds were seen far from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s reported wedding celebration, fuelling fresh speculation about where former friendships stand amid the Hollywood fallout.

For now, Justin and Emily say they are focusing on healing, their children and everyday life. But Emily’s closing message that there is “so much more to say,” followed by Justin’s promise that they will say it, suggests this may not be the final chapter in one of Hollywood’s most watched legal dramas.
