Princess Kate and Prince William gave royal fans a tender moment in Windsor as the Princess of Wales congratulated her husband with a kiss after he helped his team to victory at the Royal Charity Polo Cup.

The Prince of Wales took part in the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup at Guards Polo Club, marking his 15th appearance in the long-running fundraiser. Playing in his usual number 4 position, William was proudly watched from the sidelines by Kate before later joining her on the pitch for the trophy presentation.

After the match, Kate handed out the cup and other awards before the couple walked back across the grass hand in hand. The sweet public display came at the end of a successful day that raised more than £1 million for charities and causes supported by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The latest total means the annual polo fixture has now helped raise around £15 million over the years, supporting a wide range of organisations close to William and Kate’s hearts. This year’s funds are being distributed across ten charities, including children’s health, homelessness and emergency medical services.

One of the most meaningful beneficiaries this year is Evelina London Children’s Hospital, one of Kate’s patronages. For the first time, the hospital will receive support from the event as it prepares for a major expansion of specialist care for children with cancer across London and the South East.
Kate visited Evelina earlier in the week, meeting staff, families and children while highlighting the hospital’s ambitious plans. Hospital leaders praised the Princess for her warmth and empathy, saying her support means a great deal to children, families and medical teams facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

The cause carries added emotional weight following Kate’s own cancer journey. The mother of three has spoken openly about life beyond diagnosis and recently completed her Three Peaks Challenge to raise money and awareness for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
The day also supported The Passage, a homelessness charity long associated with William. The Prince was first taken there by Princess Diana when he was just 11, and tackling homelessness has since become a central part of his public work through his Homewards campaign.
Other beneficiaries include Wales Air Ambulance, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary and continues to rely heavily on fundraising to keep its lifesaving missions running. Charity leaders said the support from the polo event would help raise both money and awareness at a challenging time for many organisations.
For royal watchers, the images of Kate kissing William and walking beside him after the match offered more than a polished photo opportunity. They showed a couple united around the causes they care about, using a traditional royal sporting event to deliver serious help to vulnerable children, families and communities.
With Kate making a stylish return to the polo sidelines and William once again putting his sporting side to work for charity, the Windsor afternoon became a blend of romance, public service and meaningful fundraising — exactly the kind of royal moment that resonates far beyond the pitch.
