ITV presenter Laura Woods sparked panic on Tuesday evening after she appeared to collapse live on air during coverage of England Women’s clash with Ghana.
The 37-year-old broadcaster was hosting the ITV4 programme in Southampton when she suddenly fell forward, with Ian Wright and Anita Asante instinctively reaching out to catch her before cameras immediately cut away.

Although the broadcast swiftly switched to another shot, the audio lingered for a moment, capturing Wright asking, in a worried tone, if she was OK. Moments later, ITV faded into an ad break.
When the programme returned, stand-in presenter Katie Shanahan had been drafted in to replace Woods. Shanahan explained that Laura had been taken ill, adding: “As you’ve probably noticed, we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill, but she’s in very good hands, so I’m stepping in at late notice.”
Laura’s fiancé, Adam Collard, later reassured concerned viewers on X, writing that “Laura is all ok and with the right people,” and thanked fans for their messages.

ITV has yet to issue a formal update, though colleagues and fans rushed to send well-wishes on social media. One viewer wrote that they “hoped Laura Woods is ok,” while another said it was “upsetting to see Laura faint,” praising Wright for catching her in time.
Woods, a regular face on ITV and TNT Sports, only returned to work in April after welcoming her son, Leo, with Collard in January. The couple, who went public in late 2023, became engaged in September 2024 after Collard proposed on a beach in St Ives, Cornwall.
