BOXER David Haye was rumbled in the jungle for his sexist remarks after he couldn’t use AI to check if his comments were safe to say, we can reveal.
The canny fighter – worth £16 million – used to fact check what he said with friends and work colleagues to ensure the words in any speeches, events or TV programmes he appears on were acceptable.
When AI came along, he used that instead, sources claim.
But he couldn’t use that in the jungle.
Pals have revealed to The Sun how the boxer went on I’m A Celeb for the money, to boost his profile and cash in on endorsements.
A source said: “His focus inside camp has always been the game, survival decisions and camp dynamics rather than trying to offend anyone.
David – famous for being in a “throuple” with Sian – shocked campmates like Pussycat Dolls Ashley Roberta and former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffat, when he said his girlfriend Sian had “ugly duckling syndrome”.
He said in camp: “Most ugly girls realise they’re not pretty enough… they’ve got to have a personality to banter and tell jokes to overlook that they’re not aesthetically amazing straight away.
“It’s called ‘ugly duckling syndrome.’”
He continued: “They get prettier as they get older but they’ve still got the personality of when they were younger.
But insiders revealed to The Sun that girlfriend Sian is actually besotted with the boxer – and the life they live.
David and Sian started dating in 2020. The pair are believed to have met through his modelling agency Black Mask Company which he launched during the pandemic.
They were most famously alleged to be in a “throuple” with The Saturdays singer Una Healy, 44, despite the singer denying a romantic relationship with Sian.
David, who announced his retirement from professional boxing in 2018 aged 37 – following two defeats to fellow I’m A Celebrity star and boxer Tony Bellew, is said to be “blissfully happy” with Sian.
Our source said: “The throuple situation is something David obviously likes and he and Sian are happy.
“She loves the life that they have and kind of puts up with the madness around it because she likes the situation with David.
“Sian loves their lifestyle. And he loves keeping her happy by providing for her and ensuring they live a great life.
“And she won’t mind what he’s said.
“It will have raised his profile again. And that’s what being on this show is all about.
“David also enjoys being controversial and having an unconventional relationship keeps him relevant and bring in the endorsements.”
They added: “He’s dramatic, headline grabbing, likes people talking about him. But he doesn’t want to offend anybody.
“And these comments have been taken far more seriously than they were ever intended – it was nothing more than his usual blunt humour in camp conversation.
“David was speaking casually about personality stereotypes from his own life experience and never meant it as a wider attack on women.
“He accepts that the phrasing was clumsy and easy to sensationalise once lifted into headlines.
“David is completely unfazed by the backlash and sees the reaction as part of the reality TV environment, where off-the-cuff camp chat can quickly become the main story.
“After all, he knew what he was getting into.”
David, starred on the 2012 series of I’m A Celebrity in Australia which was won by EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks.
