💔 BEV’S TEARS: Beverley Callard breaks silence after emotional I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! exit following medical setback

CORRIE star Beverley Callard broke down in tears as she revealed she was being forced to quit I’m A Celeb.

She told campmates: “I didn’t feel very well this morning, I had a bit of a funny turn and they said I can’t come back in and I’ve got to go home.

“I’m absolutely gutted. I wanted to prove that older women could do it.”

The series was pre-recorded in Kruger National Park last year, and four months after filming, Beverley was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

She has now had surgery to successfully remove the cancer.

In her exit chat yesterday, Beverley, 69, who also appeared in the 2020 series in Wales, said: “I’ve had the experience of a lifetime.

She said: “When they put us into the main camp, it was like moving into a five-star hotel! Savannah Scrub was horrific.

“We couldn’t work out how to empty the loo, we couldn’t work out anything, we had no idea how to cook. This time completely knocked 2020 out of the park.

“I’m so glad I said yes, because I did have to think about it. I’ve been covered in bugs before, so did I really want to do it again?

“Also, last time I’d just had a new hip, so there were a lot of challenges I wasn’t allowed to do. I hated that.

“We all had deep and personal conversations after a few days. You get to know each other really deeply. I can’t remember seeing a group of people get on as exceptionally well as we did.”

Yesterday Bev updated fans that surgery to remove the cancer from a lymph node last week had been a success.

In an online video, she said: “I’ve been resting constantly.

“Hopefully, I’ll keep feeling well and get better. But I’m good – I’m good.”
