Katie Price’s terminally ill mother — Amy — has broken her silence: “I told her never to marry Peter Andre, he only used my daughter for fame.” She also warned that Princess could end up trapped under the same management team and vowed she won’t die until Katie gets her life together
Amy Price may call herself “an ordinary mum, wife and granny” who loves dogs, horses and yoga — but life as Katie Price’s mother has been anything but ordinary.
At 73, Amy is battling idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), an incurable lung disease for which she underwent a transplant in 2022. Yet, even as her health fails, her devotion to Katie remains unshaken. She has stood by her daughter through broken marriages, addiction battles, bankruptcy, suicide attempts and countless cosmetic surgeries — though she has never hidden her disapproval. “I’ve disagreed with every procedure she’s ever had,” Amy once admitted, furious that Katie was pushed into breast surgery at 17.

Her book The Last Word laid bare her strongest opinions. Amy accused Katie’s first husband Peter Andre of “using” her daughter for fame, branding him “controlling” and “Mr Nice Guy with a fragile ego.” She revealed she even warned Katie before she entered I’m A Celebrity: “Whatever you do, don’t end up with him.”

Her concern now lies with granddaughter Princess, who has launched ITV’s The Princess Diaries. Amy fears history is repeating itself as Princess is managed by the same team that once represented Peter. “My greatest wish for my grandchildren is for them to find their own way in life,” Amy said, suggesting Princess seek new management for a “fresh perspective.”
Katie and Amy’s bond has remained close, despite clashes over surgery and relationships. Katie recently admitted: “My mum doesn’t have many friends, so she tries to be there for me whenever she can. Even when I don’t listen, she never stops supporting me.”

Amy herself once confessed being Katie’s mother was “a lot more than I bargained for.” But as she battles her illness, she insists she will not leave this world until Katie “gets her life together.”
