Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were humiliated on Sky News following their latest blow from the Royal Family. It has been reported that the last remaining ties between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Frogmore Cottage are on the brink of being wiped out as the property is set to undergo £2.4million worth of renovations.

The late Queen Elizabeth II gifted the couple the cottage as a wedding present in 2018, however, the Sussexes moved to California after stepping down as working royals in 2020. Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, were officially evicted from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles in 2023 and the property has been vacant ever since. With all traces of the couple set to be wiped, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested the Royal Family is “spiritually cleansing” the cottage.

“I like to imagine there is someone walking through Frogmore Cottage right now burning sage and opening every window,” she told Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi. “The Royal Family isn’t just renovating Frogmore Cottage, they’re spiritually cleansing it.”

She added: “The Palace is doing a hard reset. New paint, new décor, and no Montecito memories.”

When asked what will become of Frogmore Cottage, Kinsey suggested it could become the home to one of Prince William and Princess Kate’s children, should they wish to live there when they get older.

She said: “It might sit empty for a little while with the option of one day becoming available to Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis. You don’t know where they’re going to want to live when they get older.

“As the older generation disappears, new homes become available and the new generation will move into those so I imagine it will be a space that is inevitably lived in again one day.”

Harry and Meghan moved into the cottage after their wedding and spent £2.4 million renovating it using money borrowed from the Sovereign Grant, which they later repaid.

The transformation of the property for the Sussexes took nearly a year to complete and included the creation of a yoga studio, the replacement of ceiling beams and floor joists, a full rewiring of the electrics, and the installation of new gas and water mains.

“It’s (Frogmore Cottage) been empty for three years. Even Andrew thought it wasn’t good enough for him to move in. Maybe if they get rid of any trace of Harry and Meghan, then someone within the royal household will fancy it,” a source told The Sun.
