“FROM ABANDONED TO MIRACULOUS!” — Queen Bee, Now Called Nova, Finds Love and a Forever Home After Nearly Losing Her Life

Queen Bee, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, and her 11 adorable puppies have all found loving forever homes after capturing hearts on the latest series of Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake.

Viewers saw her arrive at Dogs Trust Basildon in poor condition, heavily pregnant, abandoned, and likely used for breeding. Despite this rough start, Queen Bee showed incredible resilience, giving birth to a healthy litter of 11 pups and undergoing months of training and care to prepare for adoption.

The team at Dogs Trust worked patiently to help her regain confidence and trust in humans, using enrichment activities like toys and snuffle mats to understand her personality and behavior. Their dedication paid off — the once-nervous mum has now blossomed into a happy, sociable dog with a loving new family.

Now renamed Nova, she lives up to her royal nickname. Her new owner, Tyler Bethell, shared:

“She really is one in a million. Nova has settled in amazingly well and feels like she’s been here forever. She’s learnt so much and can do plenty of tricks, from sitting patiently at roads to barking on command. We couldn’t imagine life without her.”

Nova’s pups are thriving too. Waffle (formerly Beetle) is described by adopter Theresa Baker as:

“Playful, affectionate and energetic. Waffle has settled in so well and is growing fast. Rescuing her has been incredibly rewarding, and we feel so lucky to love her.”

Lisa Cooper, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Basildon, added:

“We’re so happy to see all the dogs flourishing in their forever homes. Their journey is an incredible reminder of the work our team does to help dogs find loving families.”
