The ITV star, who also appeared in Happy Valley, passed away at the age of 45.

Emmerdale star Frazer Hammill 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 without a will aged 45
Emmerdale star Frazer Hammill has sadly 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 without leaving a will following his arrest for s3xual assault in 2025. The 45-year-old actor, who also appeared in Happy Valley, 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 by suicide after leaving a note on his neighbour’s door with the keys to his house. He passed away as a single man on December 30, leaving his mother, Eleanor Hammill, the sole administrator.
The approximate value of Fraser’s estate was £33,571, but after £18,000 in deductions, his final total was just £15,571. A newly released Letter of Administration stated: “Frazer Hammill of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 on 30 December 2025.
“The administration of Frazer Hammill’s estate is granted by the High Court of Justice on this date to the following administrator: Eleanor Chapman Hammill of Doncaster. The application has stated that the gross value of the estate in the United Kingdom amounts to £333,571 and the net value amounts to £15,571.”
No Grant of Probate was issued. The HM Courts and Tribunal Service declared: “The reason for this is that the Grant issued in this case is a Grant of Letters of Administration.
“This is a legal document issued by a Probate Registry when a person has 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 without making a valid will, called intestate and is issued an administrator of the estate. This is usually the lawful spouse, if any, or nearest blood relative.”
Frazer took his own life just hours after he was arrested by Lancashire Police following a report of s3xual assault on a woman in her 40s. An inquest previously heard that he was later found dead at his home after he left a note on his neighbour’s door with the keys to his house.

The actor had appeared as a prison guard in Emmerdale and as a police officer in the hit BBC drama, Happy Valley. An inquest into his death heard a statement from his sister, Caroline Hammill, who revealed his death was a “complete shock” to the family.
She explained that no one was aware of the actor’s struggles with mental health or that he was “feeling low enough to end his life”. Caroline added that her brother was “happy in life” and “loved his family and his nieces and nephews”.
