“I think William’s all too aware of this, because only a couple of weeks ago he revealed he was selling off half a million pounds worth of his Duchy of Cornwall estate, and he has also been very careful to point out that he pays the full market rent for his new property in Windsor, which is Forest Lodge, which is £300,000 a year, which works out at £842 pounds a day,” she shared.
“How interesting that he was careful to make sure that was all in the public domain before this report came out, because he, of course, wants to be seen as not getting freebies and paying the full rent.
Referring to Princess Alexandra, a first cousin of the late Queen, she said: “I do know she did do duties for quite a long time. She’s of a very great age now, so she can’t anymore, but she pays £1500 pounds a year for…a palatial home in the middle of Richmond Park. £1500 quid a year is not too bad for that.”
Instead, the two daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, now aged 37 and 36, have their rents paid in full by their uncle, King Charles.

“Beatrice lives at St James’s Palace when she’s in London, that’s where she stays, that’s her Pied à Terre. But she also has a £3 million house in Oxfordshire.
“She’s having a pretty good life, she’s probably making quite a lot of money, or her husband is, but additionally, she has the free use of a, I think it’s two or three bedroom apartment in St James’s Palace, which she initially shared with her sister.
“But when…Eugenie got married, they separated off, and Eugenie was given a place in Kensington Palace.
“So they’ve got now two rent-free properties, and Andrew isn’t paying the rent, I think it is a reduced rent, it’s 60% of the market value or something, but that’s coming out of the privy purse,” she said.
