A deeply personal comment made by Sarah Ferguson about the late Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly sparked outrage behind palace doors — with Prince William said to be “absolutely furious.”
The controversy stems from remarks Sarah made during a public appearance last year, where she spoke candidly about caring for the Queen’s beloved corgis, Muick and Sandy — dogs she and Prince Andrew took in following the monarch’s death in September 2022.
In what some insiders have described as a “deeply uncomfortable” moment, Sarah told an audience:
“Every morning, the corgis come in, barking ‘woof woof’… and I’m sure it’s her talking to me.”
While intended as a sentimental reflection, the remark reportedly did not land well within the Royal Family.

Sources suggest that both William and Catherine, Princess of Wales viewed the anecdote as crossing an unspoken line — turning private grief into what they saw as public spectacle.
The tension is said to have deepened existing unease around Sarah’s position within the royal orbit. Though she has frequently expressed admiration for the late Queen — once calling being her daughter-in-law “the greatest honour” — moments like this have reportedly raised eyebrows at the highest levels.

Behind the palace walls, however, it is Sarah’s unexpected comment — not just past controversies — that has reportedly struck a nerve.
And for Prince William, it seems this was one moment that went too far.
