The former Emmerdale star has shared a heartfelt update after the death of her mum a week ago

Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has shared an emotional update with fans following the heartbreaking loss of her mum on Mother’s Day.
The soap star, best known for playing Debbie Dingle, took to Instagram to reflect on the past week and how she has been coping following the sad loss.In one of the posts shared to her stories, Charley uploaded a raw black and white image showing her hand holding her mum’s hand, alongside the touching photo, she wrote: “One week without her.”
She later shared a second update, posting a selfie capturing an everyday moment as she continues to process her grief. With honesty, she told her followers: “Happy Sunday from me and my tired eyes. Roast dinner pending.”
The posts come just days after Charley announced the devastating news in a deeply personal tribute shared on Sunday, March 15. Alongside a childhood photo of herself with her mum, she opened up about the pain of losing her and the long journey they had faced together.
She penned: “My beautiful Mum left us today on Mother’s Day. 15/03/2026. The past twelve years were stolen from us, that’s the only way to describe this feeling. ‘The long goodbye’, Thank you to everyone for all of your support, especially everyone that’s looked after her so well for the last three years. And to all of my closest people, I couldn’t life without you.”

Charley reflected on the impact of her mum’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease, which had spanned more than a decade and deeply affected their family life.
Following the announcement, messages of love and support quickly poured in from friends, co-stars and well-known names, all offering comfort during an incredibly difficult time.

Among them was close friend, Sheridan Smith, who wrote: “Babba, pleased you’re here with me and Billy, we love you”. Fellow former co-star Lisa Riley also shared her support, writing: “So much love and strength at this difficult time.” Actress Amy Nuttall added: “Oh Charley, I’m so so sorry to read this. I hope you’re surrounded by loved ones and have some support. Thinking of you and sending so much love.”
More tributes continued to follow, including from author and presenter Giovanna Fletcher, who wrote: “Charley, sending you so much love and strength. Your Mumma will be a part of you always.” Meanwhile, actress and radio presenter Gemma Atkinson simply shared: “Oh Charley I’m so sorry.”
