SAD NEWS: UNDEFEATED BRITISH BOXER COLIN CAIRNEY PASSES AWAY AT 22 AFTER HEARTBREAKING TUK-TUK INCIDENT IN THAILAND

British boxing has been left in mourning after undefeated young boxer Colin Cairney passed away following a heartbreaking incident while on a trip to Thailand.

The 22-year-old Scottish fighter had been in Phuket when he was reportedly involved in a dispute over a tuk-tuk fare in the early hours of the morning. According to reports, Colin was travelling back from a night out when the driver took him toward an ATM so he could withdraw money to pay.

Moments later, the situation took a devastating turn. Colin is understood to have fallen from the moving vehicle and suffered a serious head injury after landing on the road. Emergency services were called, and he was rushed first to Patong Hospital before being transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital because of the severity of his condition.

Doctors fought to save him, but his injuries were critical. He was placed on life support, and his family faced an agonising wait as friends, supporters and the boxing community prayed for a miracle. Sadly, tributes have now confirmed that Colin has passed away.

His promotional team and boxing club described him not only as a talented fighter, but as someone deeply loved by those around him. In emotional messages shared online, he was remembered for his character, his warmth and the impact he made far beyond the ring.

Colin had built a remarkable record as a professional boxer, remaining unbeaten across 10 fights. At just 22, he was seen as a rising name with huge potential and many believed his best years were still ahead of him.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being examined. Thai police have reportedly reviewed CCTV and spoken to witnesses as they work to establish exactly what happened. Early reports suggest the driver may face questions over whether enough was done after Colin fell from the vehicle.

For Colin’s loved ones, however, the details cannot take away the pain of losing him so suddenly. What began as a trip abroad has ended in unimaginable sorrow for his family, friends, trainers and teammates.

Fundraising pages were launched to support medical costs and help bring Colin home, with thousands of pounds raised by people touched by his story. The response showed how deeply he was loved — not just as a boxer, but as a young man with a bright spirit and a future full of promise.

Across the boxing world, tributes continue to pour in. Many have described Colin as a warrior, a friend and a young talent taken far too soon.

His unbeaten record will remain part of his legacy, but those closest to him will remember something even greater: the person he was outside the ring.
