Tragedy as boy, 11, killed in horror crash with bus and car while riding his bike as cops launch urgent probe

AN 11-year-old boy has tragically died while riding his bike after a horror crash involving a bus and car.

Cops swooped on Nottingham Road in Derby, just before 7pm yesterday evening after the fatal collision.

The schoolboy suffered serious injuries and died in hospital.

His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers, Derbyshire Police said.

Cops confirmed no arrests have been made.

Nottingham Road was shut from 7pm yesterday following the horror crash.

The route is a key link for drivers heading towards the A52 and Nottingham.

The closure was in place from Pentagon Island towards Chaddesden, running past Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

Police urged any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward immediately.
