Katie Price has once again ignited fury from animal welfare groups after revealing she had her initials shaved directly into her horse’s coat — a move critics say shows “shockingly poor judgement” given her long-running controversies with pets.
The 47-year-old former glamour model, who only recently brought home a new puppy despite widespread opposition, posted a photo of the horse on Instagram showing the letters KP carved into its closely-trimmed coat beside a heart. The shave appeared extremely close to the skin, prompting another wave of concern from campaigners.

This comes just weeks after PETA launched a brutal Halloween campaign depicting Katie as the “Grim Reaper of Pets,” following a series of animal deaths in her care. The charity described her record as “downright ghoulish,” and its Vice President Mimi Bekhechi noted that “too many animals have met a grim fate under Katie Price’s guardianship,” adding that caring for animals “is serious business, and anyone who can’t treat it that way should stick to stuffed toys.”
Last month, Katie suffered yet another heartbreaking loss when a kitten died shortly after birth because it could not latch on to feed — marking the eighth pet to die while in her care.

Despite the criticism, Katie has continued to introduce new animals into her household. She bought a Cocker Spaniel puppy named Rookie in February and recently welcomed another small dog, saying on Snapchat that “this little one just does not leave my side” and that she “can’t wait for him to meet Rookie.”
A petition calling for her to be banned from owning pets has now reached more than 37,800 signatures.
Katie has long insisted she is simply “unlucky” and says most tragedies happened while she was travelling. She also claims she has since secured her new home to better protect her animals.
But with her initials now shaved into a horse’s coat — and PETA already watching her closely — many fear this latest stunt will only deepen the backlash.
