💔 ‘MUMMY WAS CRYING… I JUST SAID YES!’: BRAVE FLORRIE BARK MOVES THIS MORNING VIEWERS WITH EMOTIONAL UPDATE AFTER LUNG TRANSPLANT 💪

The inspirational youngster, who captured the nation’s heart after winning the Child of Courage award at the 2024 Pride of Britain Awards, appeared on the daytime show alongside hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley via video link.

Florrie was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia — a rare and aggressive form of cancer — at just five years old in 2022. Since then, she has undergone gruelling chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and most recently, a life-saving lung transplant after spending time on a waiting list.

Speaking from home after being discharged from Great Ormond Street Hospital, Florrie revealed she was finally feeling much better and looking forward to slowly getting back to normal life.

Recalling the emotional moment her family learned she would receive a transplant, Florrie said: “It was amazing. Mummy was crying, daddy and mummy were both crying. I was just like, yes!”

The young fighter then revealed she immediately jumped out of bed to pack her favourite outfits before heading to hospital wearing a tiny tiara in the ambulance.

Her mum Stacey explained that Florrie insisted on wearing the crown as she went into surgery — a moment that deeply touched viewers watching at home.

Stacey emotionally admitted: “It’s like having a newborn again. When they start doing things, you celebrate every win, every little step she’s taking.

“Me and Andrew just cry constantly, she’s just done amazing. That’s a big thank you to the team at Great Ormond Street because they’ve been incredible with her.”

She also praised Florrie’s determination throughout her recovery, explaining that her daughter carefully studied everything about lung transplants to give herself the best possible chance of healing.

“She’s just not moaned once, she’s got on with everything. It’s been amazing,” Stacey added.

After months of isolating to avoid infection, Florrie also shared her excitement about returning to school in the coming months and finally being able to spend time with family indoors again.

“I’m really excited,” she said. “I’ll be able to see my cousins inside because I’ve only been able to see them outside.”

Viewers quickly flooded social media with emotional reactions, calling Florrie “an inspiration” and “an absolute angel”.

Earlier this month, Florrie’s father Andrew also reflected on the emotional moment they discovered a donor had been found.

“We were worried about telling Florence because it’s such a huge thing,” he explained. “But she woke up with the biggest smile on her face and was more worried about making sure she had a tiara to wear when she got to the ward. She was more than ready.”
