The BBC has released a first look at âCalifornia Avenue,â a new six-part drama series from BAFTA-winning writer-director Hugo Blick (The English, The Honourable Woman).

The Plot
Set in the 1970s, the story takes place in a secluded, luscious English countryside caravan park located deep along a canal-side. The peace of this hidden community is disrupted by the arrival of Lela and her 11-year-old child, Bee, who are on the run and seeking refuge. The series is described as a story where a fractured family reunites, ghosts of the past are laid to rest, and an âunexpected love is forged.â
