Sean Hannity Just Dropped A Comment On Live TV That Left Fox News Viewers Completely Stunned

Sean Hannity has weighed in on various issues throughout his career with Fox News. Recently, a discussion with a guest on his namesake show caught a few viewers off guard. Since then, it has sparked another discussion of its own on social media.
Sean Hannity Recently Spoke With Ron DeSantis On His Eponymous Show
Hannity is a Fox News personality who works for the network with various outlets. This includes the radio show, The Sean Hannity Show, and Hannity & Colmes, which he co-hosted with Alan Colmes.
After Hannity & Colmes ended in 2009, Hannity became the host of his own namesake talk program on Fox News. During a recent episode of the show, he spoke with California Governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis previously appeared at a bill signing ceremony on April 6. At the time, he shared that he felt that Florida was behind in banning cousin marriages, hoping to outlaw the practice soon. At the time, he shared, âFlorida doesnât ban cousin marriage: Thatâs a hanging curveball for us to do; we need to do that.â
Commenters Felt That There Were More Pressing Issues
When the politician appeared on Hannity a day later, the host asked him about the marriage ban. For his part, Hannity admitted, âGovernor, good to see you. Maybe Iâm just a little ignorant here. I didnât know that it was legal to marry a first cousin.â
DeSantis replied, âWell, in a lot of states, itâs not. Florida needs to get with the program on that one. Itâs obviously part of cultures that are antithetical to American values and so thatâs something that we will get done one way or another.â

As noted by The U.S. Express, taking to X, a few commenters were shocked that Hannity wasnât aware that cousin marriages were legal in some states. While a few made political jokes, others appeared to express genuine surprise and felt that Hannity came off as naive to suggest that he was unaware of this.
On the other hand, some commenters discussed the history behind the subject and various differences between cultures. A few others also thought that there were more pressing issues to be discussed, especially as the conversation on the show segued into talk about âIslamist groups.â Some comments included:
- âWho is he kidding? Rural Florida is full of people born of unions between the closely related. They just donât marry each other.â
- âItâs legal in 25 states I believe. Surprised he didnât know this.â
- âThe President of the United States married his first cousin and served three terms. Letâs not pretend we have some sort of moral issue with something so common until 5 minutes agoâ
- âAttorney here, didnât have rooting for first cousins to marry stay legal on my bingo card yet here we fucking are.â
- â18-25 states in the US allow it. Alabama leads the race with numbers.â
- âI get that thereâs no law against it but are people in Florida marrying their cousins?â
- âDefinitely the most pressing problem in Florida.â
