Katie Price has finally begun to realise that she has been deceived by her new husband and is now working out how to extricate herself from the marriage, The Daily Mail can reveal.
The 48-year-old has been publicly maintaining a brave face after flying to Dubai where Lee is being held in jail over fraud allegations – and it’s now emerged he needs to stump up at least £100,000 to be freed.
But privately she has come to the conclusion that their whirlwind marriage is effectively over – because she doesn’t believe Lee, 42, can possibly come up with the money himself and she doesn’t want to pay it for him after he’s repeatedly lied to her.
After first declaring him missing, then saying he had been held for spying, Katie finally visited him at the notorious Al Awir Central Prison on Wednesday after flying to Dubai.
She later told fans: ‘I have got to go to courts, prison and the police station. Who knows what today will bring. I am so tired.’
And a source close to the star said she’s most tired of Lee and has at last begun to accept that friends were right to warn her that her new man was not the billionaire he pretended to be, but instead a chancer.

And it now transpires that far from having a £1 billion fortune he doesn’t even possess one ten thousandth of that sum to buy his way out of prison.
Katie has concluded that the only way he will get out of the prison is if she herself stumps up the money – which she now recognises would be reckless.
So instead she has started to plan a life without her husband indefinitely, the Mail has learned.
Despite this, friends say Katie will make the most of this latest drama as she continues to try to monetise her chaotic life as her followers enjoy her dramas and scrapes.
A close friend of the star told the Daily Mail: ‘Katie is in pieces. To the outside world she wants to keep up the bravado. But inside she can’t believe how Lee has made her look.
‘He’s pulled the wool over lots of people’s eyes – especially women. And now, as it’s all being played out in the public eye, she’s at the forefront of the con.’
It is far from certain whether Lee will be able to secure his release from Dubai’s notorious Al Awir jail even if he can raise the six figure sum without his wife’s help, which those who know him doubt.
And overnight she has learned that the final figure he needs to get free could be even higher – closer to £150,000 – which hasn’t enamoured her to Lee any further.
‘Lee is stuck inside that hellhole of a prison. And unless she or someone else stumps tens of thousands of pounds to get him out, he won’t be released any time soon.
‘And whether as a former bankrupt Katie could come up with the money even if she wanted to is a big question.
‘It’s looking like Lee’s conman lifestyle has finally caught up with him. And the last place you would want to be locked up is in Dubai.
‘Katie is so confused, but ultimately it looks like she will be heading to the divorce court once again.

‘However, she will always try to cash in on the drama surrounding her hectic lifestyle.’
Meanwhile her family are growing increasingly concerned about her mental health, and her children’s welfare.
The friend continued: ‘Katie’s family are very close to her. And they are all very concerned for her.
‘She is spending too much time away from her kids, as well as being halfway around the world.’
Before his arrest Lee had sent a series of text messages to the mother-of-five, claiming he was being kidnapped following an international manhunt.
It led Katie to plead with fans on social media as well as with the authorities to help her find her missing husband. Now, though, she has been telling friends that the situation has left her feeling furious and embarrassed.
The fiasco meant Katie was without her husband on her birthday, and swamped by allegations that she was ‘in’ on his disappearance, which was considered by many a tasteless media stunt.
Even close friends who have staunchly supported her through numerous bankruptcies, nine engagements, four marriages and three messy divorces previously told the Daily Mail how she’d had a part to play.
Katie’s four-month marriage has also been tainted by claims from women – some of them Lee’s former lovers – that he scammed them and that his new wife should ‘run for the hills’.
While Lee denies being a conman, he is said to be subject to a travel ban by UAE authorities after allegedly forging a former partner’s signature to obtain a £200,000 mortgage in Dubai.
This would have prevented him from flying back to see Katie irrespective of his imprisonment which is reportedly to do with ‘a civil matter’.
The drama has resulted in heated rows between Katie and her sister Sophie and mother Amy who are at their wits end over the impact that Lee has had on the family. They ordered Katie not to fly out to see him, but she ignored them.
The source said: ‘Katie has fallen out with her family again too. Her sister Sophie is fuming about the whole situation, but so is their mum Amy who isn’t well and is struggling with it all.
‘The added stress has really taken a toll on her and Sophie has tried to make Katie see this. She was told not to go to Dubai but has gone anyway.
‘The advice landed on deaf ears, and this week Katie accused them of meddling in her relationship and they had another big bust-up.
‘They are really sick of the situation with Lee now. They have never been introduced or spoken to him and have told Katie they never want to.’
Lee is understood to be being held over claims he forged a signature on paperwork relating to a loan.
